Religious Book Seller Struck By Lightning [via Digg]. OK, it is a little funny, but more depressing than anything.
“He’s unconscious, he’s in a coma,” said Francisco Perez, leader of the Puerto Rico-based group. “It’s difficult what happened, you know, but what can we do? Things happen in life, but we still believe in God.”
Really? Really? So one day you’re out doing “God’s work” and He knocks you in to a coma for no apparent reason other than doing ‘His will’ and your answer is ‘oh, well, things happen’?? Really? That sort of thing would make me start asking questions, at least at the most basic level ‘hey big G - WTF with the whole lightning thing? Should I be doing something else?’ and then at the next level I’d be thinking ‘if God is going to kick my ass with lightning every time I try to do this, I’m out.’
But, hey, that’s just me. I’m happy to leave it at “Things happen in life, but I still don’t believe in God.”
